A deal in the US with Zurich Group has brought benefits on this
side of the Atlantic for LeasePlan, as the two companies have
signed a deal which will see the lessor provide 2,800 vehicles for
the insurance giant’s employees in the UK.
The cars are to be funded through a mixture of contract purchase
and an employee car ownership (ECO) scheme. Cars will be provided
both for essential-use drivers, and for high-performing Zurich
staff as an additional employee benefit.

An IT system “specifically implemented for the account” will
provide “direct access to a range of applications including online
fleet reporting, a quoting and ordering tool and CarWISE Driver – a
funding options comparison calculator for drivers”, LeasePlan said,
adding that it had won the deal thanks to its “innovative approach
to electronic solutions” along with its international profile.
LeasePlan brand director Lesley Slater commented: “Zurich’s
commitment to sign the fleet arrangement with LeasePlan UK
underpins our commitment and ability to provide global solutions
with a local focus.
“By working closely with Zurich, we have also been able to
develop IT solutions that not only support Zurich’s specific UK
fleet requirements, but could also add value to many of our
existing customers,” she added.
“LeasePlan has been providing company cars to Zurich in the US
since 2007. The UK is the second country in the Zurich Group to
take advantage of the savings and enhancements offered by our
global fleet arrangement,” said Pete Steer, UK HR payroll and
benefits director at Zurich.
