Santander Consumer UK and Volvo Cars UK have announced a new
partnership, with the motor finance lender to provide wholesale and
retail finance to Volvo dealers and their customers.
The decision to choose Santander Consumer, which
will replace Ford Credit as a primary finance provider for
Volvo’s retailers and customers, came after a tender process which
came to an end in late 2009.
Santander Consumer was selected thanks to “its ability to
provide a range of cost control and competitive finance options
across the Volvo business and dealer network,” Volvo said.
The lender’s products will be offered to Volvo customers
using the branding of Volvo Car Financial Services.
The new relationship with Santander Consumer will not affect
Volvo’s partnership with Lex Autolease in the area of provision of
business finance, such as contract hire, to Volvo’s dealers, the
manufacturer added.
David Browning, Volvo Car UK’s finance manager said: “Our new
partnership with Santander provides us with great opportunities to
support car sales activities through the provision of highly
competitive finance products.
