Horse/FLA
The UK’s Finance & Leasing
Association (FLA) has elected Chris
Sutton as its new chairman.
Sutton has been the MD of Black Horse
Consumer Finance – part of the Lloyds Banking Group – since June
2008, with overall responsibility for motor finance and, since
February 2010, its Personal Finance business.
He replaces David Betteley, director of financial
services at Jaguar Land Rover, who is standing down as FLA chairman
after three years.
Commenting on his own appointment,
Sutton said: “I look forward to working with the FLA team to make
sure our voice is heard by the next Government and by our
regulators, so that our members have the best possible business
environment in which to serve their customers and so contribute to
the economic recovery.”
Pendragon Contracts
Pendragon Contracts is expanding its
team with three new appointments in order to “increase levels of
contact with its customers and potential customers”, the contract
hire division of UK’s motor group Pendragon PLC said.
The three new hires are Mark Alder as new business manager,
Angela Denton as account manager
and Melanie Thompson as daily
rental manager.
Alder has over 10 years of
experience, having worked for Daimler Fleet Management, LeasePlan
UK, Arma and Arca Systems.
Denton joins from Inchcape Fleet
Solutions, while Thompson is moving from a background in daily
hire. Both will be responsible for managing and developing existing
customer relationships.
Neal Francis, divisional MD at
Pendragon Contracts, said: “The expansion of our team will ensure
we will continue to offer the highest level of service to our
clients. I look forward to working with our three new team members
to extend the business further during 2010.”
Fleet Alliance
Fleet solutions provider Fleet
Alliance has appointed Richard
Frazer as business development manager.
Frazer has 13 years’ experience in
the fleet industry, including roles with Masterlease, Practical Car
and Van Rental.
In his most recent role he worked
with HSBC Vehicle Finance (HSBCVF) in Birmingham, before being made
redundant as HSBC withdrew from the vehicle leasing market –
migrating existing customers over to Lex Autolease.
Frazer will be based in Fleet
Alliance’s sales office in Birmingham, where he will be responsible
for new business development and recruiting new fleet customers on
a national basis.
Fleet Alliance direct sales manager
Grant Boardman said: “We are very much looking to expand the
business in line with economic recovery and our business plan for
this year, and are looking to recruit further experienced contract
hire and leasing sales people.”
LeasePlan UK
LeasePlan UK has appointed
Matt Cranny as operation and
service director. Cranny replaces Graham Rixon, who is stepping
down to pursue other interests outside the industry, the car and
van leasing company said.
Within LeasePlan UK, Cranny
previously held the role of service improvement director, with
responsibility of customer satisfaction and service.
In his new role, he will focus on
service improvement with the day-to-day operational side of the
business, working closely with the lessor’s commercial director
Matt Dyer.
LeasePlan UK MD David Brennan said:
“Matt Cranny has played a vital role in the success of LeasePlan
over the years and his new role is testament to that.
“It really highlights the importance
of customer service within operations and echoes our Good to Great
ethos of continual service improvement.”
ICFM
The Institute of Car Fleet Management
(ICFM) has appointed Marie
Jarrolds as a new member to its council.
Jarrolds has worked with British Car
Auctions (BCA) for the past fifteen years, in customer services
first and as car fleet controller since 2004. She was named fleet
manager of the Year in the 2008 and 2009 Fleet News awards.
ICFM’s chairman Roddy Graham said:
“We are delighted to welcome Marie to the Council. As a past Fleet
News award winner, Marie really needs no introduction and the
Council is delighted to have a third female member in its
line-up.”
Fraikin
Contract hire and rental specialist
Fraikin Ltd has appointed Peter
Backhouse as its new CEO.
Backhouse replaces Laurent Bonnaure,
executive vice president international at Fraikin Group, who took
on the role of interim MD of Fraikin Ltd in October 2009.
This followed a nine year period in
which John Ball led the CV specialist, increasing the company’s
fleet from 1,600 units to 15,000 vans and trucks today.
Backhouse’s experience includes 11
years in senior positions with truck lessor Ryder. In his most
recent role he was MD of Bunzl Healthcare Ltd.
