FCA Group’s captive fleet and PCH provider Leasys has hired a chief executive officer and a leader of the Leasys UK division.
The international company will now be led by Alberto Grippo. Grippo previously led FCA Bank in Spain and Portugal, also launching Leasys first operations outside of Europe through expansion into Morocco. Grippo also has UK business experience and studied an MBA at the University of Warwick from 2005-2007.
Sebastiano Fedrigo will head up Leasys UK, joining from Fiat Chrysler Automobiles UK. Prior to this Fedrigo was in charge of the FCA’s van division. Former UK head Roberto Bellavia replaces Danny Meulenberghs as the head of Leasys Belgium.
FCA Bank’s chief executive officer Giacomo Carelli continues in his role as chairman of the board. Leasys now operates in seven countries as well as Italy, including the Netherlands, Germany, Spain, and France. FCA has announced that Grippo’s appointment is a move towards ‘the consolidation of its operations and will continue to implement its internationalisation strategy’.
Leasys currently manages a fleet of over 215,000 units in Italy and in other European markets. The company targets large companies, small and medium businesses, public administration, professionals and private individuals.
In June FCA announced launch of a car subscription service in the US. The FCA service allows buyers of certain Jeep models to receive credits or ‘coins’ that will go towards borrowing further FCA products. The consumer will retain ownership of their original vehicle in this model, though the subscription service may tempt buyers to opt for the pricier but slightly less practical models by ensuring they could borrow a wider variety of vehicles if required.
