Volvo Car UK and Germany-based insurer Allianz Global Assistance have launched a website to provide a service plan to Volvo owners.
The platform allows owners of the brand’s vehicles less than four years old to pay either a one-off payment or a monthly fee towards a pre-paid plan covering up to 10 services carried out before the vehicle is more than six years old.
The plans, entailing all services to be carried out at an authorised dealer and covering both labour and genuine Volvo parts, will be priced according to vehicle type and number of services included.
The package also includes onward transport, one-year roadside assistance, personal staff contact, a 29-point vehicle inspection, software upgrade on certain models and car-cleaning service.
Peter Smith, aftersales business development manager for Volvo Car UK, said customers would be protected against price changes by managing costs on a monthly basis while the website would both aid budgeting and ensure manufacturer-approved servicing.
The agreement follows comments by Allianz in May regarding the benefits to manufacturers of using pay-as-you-go warranty schemes. Most recently, the insurer signed deals with Mazda Motors UK, in January 2013, and Volkswagen Financial Services in September 2012.
