Ebbon Automotive’s B2B vehicle handover platform and Ebbon Group subsidiary MoDel achieved “record-breaking” results for the second consecutive year in 2024.

The platform, used in the fleet industry for electronic vehicle deliveries and collections, achieved a 17% year-on-year growth, achieving 1.24 million vehicle handovers in 2024.

A significant factor in MoDel’s performance was the growth in the fleet market.

Ebbon Automotive commercial, logistics head Michael Terry said: “MoDel is predominantly fleet focused and the record levels of fleet sales in 2024, with [nearly] 60% of new car registrations going to fleets, certainly contributed to this outstanding performance.”

According to the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders, fleet registrations in 2024 increased by 11.8% to 1,163,855 units, accounting for 59.6% of new car registrations.

The vast majority of MoDel users are in the UK fleet market, including leasing companies, brokers, and vehicle manufacturers.

According to Ebbon Automotive, the fastest-growing segment, vehicle logistics companies, expanded by 38 new businesses last year, bringing the total to over 90.

Additionally, MoDel experienced growth in Europe, particularly in France and the Netherlands. This expansion was driven by strong existing partnerships with leasing companies and vehicle manufacturers.

Ebbon Group developers have made modifications to the system to accommodate European business practices, preparing for further expansion in the region.

Terry added: “There are a number of new and exciting releases already in the pipeline for 2025 that will continue our commitment to MoDel’s development.

“For example, we are planning changes to our ‘form console’ feature which will look at enhancing the level of data collected at the vehicle handover and making it more bespoke. This will provide customers with more detailed information to match their exact requirements.

“We are also looking at a multi-car transport module to assist vehicle manufacturers in capturing deliveries to their dealer networks.”
