Vauxhall and Ford dominated the top ten car models sold through motor retailer Motors.co.uk in April, with Korean manufacturers Kia and Hyundai also showing strong sales growth but remaining just outside the top ten.
In all Ford and Vauxhall took six of the ten top spots, with Vauxhall taking the lion’s share with four places. Nissan’s new Qashqai model rose three spots to sixth. Volkswagen’s Golf and Polo along with BMW’s perennial 3 series filled the rest of the slots.
Ford’s Fiesta continued to outsell its stable mate the Ford Focus, selling nearly 2,000 units more in April than the larger car, and nearly 9,000 more than the tenth placed Volkswagen Polo.
Outside of the top ten, Kia’s Sportage soft roader and Hyundai’s 1×35 saw strong sales growth, rising 24% and 33% respectively.
Ford’s small SUV the Kuga saw the strongest growth outside of the top ten with sales climbing 47%.
