TIP Group, a provider of truck and trailer equipment services in Europe, has acquired Trailer Auto Group (TAG), a trailer refurbishment facility in Stoke-on-Trent, UK.
This acquisition is set to enhance TIP’s refurbishment capabilities.
TAG, set up in 2022, operates a workshop with 41 bays and employs a team of 105, including 85 mechanics.
It is a service partner for both blue-chip and smaller transport companies.
The acquisition comes as trailer refurbishment grows more essential due to rising equipment costs and increased corporate environmental, social and governance (ESG) requirements.
TIP Group UK & Ireland managing director Mike Furnival said: “Acquiring TAG will significantly enhance our ability to extend the life of our fleet and expand our offerings to both existing and new customers.

By GlobalData“The workshop’s central location will facilitate trailer refurbishment, damage repairs, servicing and MOT preparation.”
The integration of TAG is expected to bolster TIP’s refurbishment operations and offer additional opportunities to promote its extensive range of products and services.
With TAG’s inclusion, TIP now oversees 30 locations across the UK.
TAG’s full-scale refurbishment expertise enables TIP to enhance its services, helping customers achieve near-new quality and performance.
This not only minimises operational costs and environmental impact but also provides a cost-effective alternative to purchasing new equipment.
The company considers the latest deal a “significant step” in its growth path in the UK and Ireland.
TIP is engaged in providing rental, leasing and value-added equipment services for transportation and logistics customers in Europe. These services range from maintenance, repair and breakdown assistance to asset tracking and performance monitoring solutions, including electronic braking performance monitoring.
