PSA Group has launched in the United States with a car sharing scheme in partnership with TravelCar.
The programme, known as Free2Move, will initially be available for users of Los Angeles airport from 3 April 2017, before being deployed across the US.
Through Free2Move, car owners are enticed to include their cars with free or lower-priced parking and rent money, while users are offered rental prices it claims are half that of traditional car rental.
The mobility services will be developed by the newly-formed PSA North America, while PSA Group’s partners will be tasked with developing the projects.
Larry Dominique has been appointed senior vice president and head of PSA North America. He has over 30 years’ experience in the car industry, and has previously served as president of Automotive Lease Guide (ALG).
PSA’s North American entity will report to PSA Group’s Corporate Planning and Programs, led by executive vice president Patrice Lucas.
