FCA Automotive Services, the UK finance arm of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, has appointed Alex Hughes to the role of managing director.

He has replaced Alberto Merchiori, who has left the business to return with his family to Italy for personal reasons.

Hughes has been at FCA Automotive Services for 15 years, most recently as marketing and sales director.

Hughes is the most senior part of a larger reshuffle at the top of the finance house. Jayne Crosse is to take over the role of marketing and sales director for the Retail business and and Franck Galliard has been named fleet and contract hire director.

Wayne Vickers will become dealer finance director, a newly created role. Speaking to Motor Finance, Hughes said: "The role of Dealer Finance Director has been created to place a more commercial emphasis on this key pillar of our business. Recognising that a strong and well-funded dealer network is key to success in many other areas, as well as representing a growth opportunity in its own right.

"Wayne Vickers has been with the business for eighteen years in a commercial capacity, most recently as National Sales Manager, and as such knows the dealer network better than anyone. I see him as the ideal person to take this part of our business forward in a dynamic and constructive way."
