MFL Direct, a division of Motability Operations, has unveiled a revamped ecommerce platform to simplify the vehicle buying process for UK dealers.
MFL Direct sells more than 250,000 cars to dealers each year, with 80% of sales taking place online.
The revamped platform offers a personalised and streamlined purchasing experience, enabling dealers to efficiently search for, shortlist, and acquire high-quality inventory.
The enhanced platform introduces an ‘Inspected Vehicles’ channel and an auction option, complementing the existing ‘Buy-It-Now’ feature.
Motability Operations CCO Damian Oton stated: “The new platform really is a one-stop-shop, which enables traders to buy quality used cars from the Motability Scheme in whichever way works best for them.”
In developing the user-centred design, MFL Direct engaged with dealers and independent traders throughout the UK.

By GlobalDataThey discovered two primary buying mindsets: ‘deal-seekers’ who focus on profit maximisation and ‘simplifiers’ who value speed and ease of purchase.
Both groups emphasised the importance of accessible customer support and quick sales processes, the company said.
The ‘Inspected Vehicles’ category, trialled by 400 dealers, utilises Motability Operations’ facility in Coalville, Leicestershire, capable of preparing up to 25,000 vehicles annually.
These vehicles are offered with comprehensive condition reports, aiding dealers in planning and meeting customer delivery expectations.
For ‘deal-seekers’, the auction feature provides detailed vehicle reports and high-resolution images, enabling informed bidding for optimal value.
Meanwhile, ‘Buy-It-Now’ vehicles include service histories, pricing data, and are backed by the mfldirect Assured Standard.
The platform is said to be engineered for rapid transactions, allowing the purchase of two cars in less than a second, with no hidden costs.
All buying options are presented in one location, with real-time updates to facilitate dealers’ decision-making.
