UK lease broker Intelligent Car Leasing is to accept Bitcoin as a method of payment for the handling charge on all new cars leased.
Craig Day, sales manager at Intelligent Car Leasing, described the company as "always on the lookout" for ways to guarantee the best online purchasing experience for customers.

The list of products purchasable with the software-based payment system now include services from holidays to haircuts, as well as being accepted as payment by a number of venues in cities from New York to London.
Intelligent Car Leasing has selected international digital wallet Coinbase.com to facilitate customer payments.
According to the company’s finance department, who researched the move to the currency, the decision to accept Bitcoin "was an easy one". They cited the security of transactions, the lack of necessary additional website development costs and new revenue opportunities for the company’s online vehicle dealership as reasons.
"Whether this is by giving them more flexible methods of payment or an easy to use website we try to stay ahead of the curve," explained Day.
