Fleet and lease used values record – BCA

UK average fleet and lease car values hit a new record high in September, the fifth month in a row, up by £185 from August to £8,339, or a 10.3% year-on-year rise, according to the Pulse Report from remarketers British Car Auctions.

Performance against CAP rose by a point, compared to August, to 98.44%, but dropped 0.85 percentage points from September 2011. Performance against manufacturers’ retail price was up by a point to 42.05%.

The average age in the used fleet and lease sector was 40.50 months, down by 1% year-on-year; average mileage was 47,225, down by 4.3%.

Lex Autolease “mega sale”

Lex Autolease, the UK’s largest fleet lessor by vehicle parc, has teamed up with auction house Manheim for a 1000-vehicle “mega sale”.

The Lloyds Banking Group subsidiary will put 500 ex-fleet, 250 part-exchange and 250 commercial vehicles up for sale at Manheim’s Colchester site next Friday 19th October.

Bidders will also be able to take part online on the vehicle remarketing firm’s web auction site.

The two firms partnered in a single vendor auction last year which a Lex Autolease spokesperson described as a great success.

Venson renews remarketing deal with CD Auction Group

Independent contract hire and fleet management company Venson Automotive Solutions has signed a new contract with remarketing firm CD Auction Group.

Carl Stephens, Venson’s commercial director, said he “very much looked forward to continuing a strong and mutually beneficial working relationship with CD Auction Group”, a relationship which has lasted more than ten years.

Venson, which has around 10,000 vehicles on its books, uses CD Auction Group to resell its vehicles, as well as utilising its vehicle collection, refurbishment and remarketing services.
