Retailer Vertu Motors has appointed a head of fleet business for its Mercedes-Benz franchise.
Damien Rigby joined in the role in April from Arval UK, where he had been strategic business manager for large corporate customers since 2016.
His career with Arval UK goes back to 2000, when he joined the BNP Paribas-owned lessor as customer support advisor. After rising to key account manager over ten years, he temporarily left for Mercedes-Benz UK, where he covered a number of executive positions in fleet.
Rigby’s appointment follows that of Jonathan Snelson as group fleet director in June. Vertu has also recently acquire retailer the Hughes Group, which owns sites in Beaconsfield and Aylesbury and has a dedicated Mercedes-Benz business. Rigby will work closely with Clare Maher, group corporate sales manager at Hughes.
Rigby said: “Vertu Motors is a very forward-thinking business and this is demonstrated at every level, within every area of the company.
“I am fortunate to join at an exciting time, when the group is investing in the growth and expansion of its existing network of fleet retailers. I am keen to play a part in that success, and to position Vertu at the forefront of the fleet industry.”
