Online used car sales platform Cazoo has partnered with BCA for its vehicle logistics, refurbishment and disposal requirements.
As part of the agreement, BCA will store and refurbish cars purchased by Cazoo at various BCA locations around the UK. Cazoo will also benefit from BCA’s part exchange disposal services via the firm’s Consumer Appraisal and DealerPro products.
“This is an exciting partnership for us as we develop the Cazoo business ahead of our launch later this year,” said Paul Whitehead, chief commercial officer at Cazoo. “BCA’s expertise in vehicle logistics, refurbishment and disposal will help us rapidly scale the Cazoo business as we seek to deliver the UK’s best used car buying experience for our customers.”
Matt Bristow, commercial director at BCA, added: “We are delighted to be partnering with Cazoo on refurbishment, logistics and vehicle disposal. They have ambitious plans to grow their business over the coming years and we look forward to supporting them on their journey.”
In November last year, Cazoo raised over £30m in seed funding, led by dmg ventures, Stride Capital, Octopus Ventures and Entrée Capital amongst others. The startup firm has used the funds to expand its team, platform and operations.
Since the funding round, Cazoo has begun purchasing cars and refurbishing them at BCA locations, building its inventory ahead of its scheduled launch later this year. The company wants to make buying a car “no different to buying any other product online today”, with customers able to complete the purchase process online and have the car delivered to their door within 48 hours.
