Automotive technology company cap hpi has launched Worldwide Harmonised Light Vehicle Test Procedure (WLTP) data software for users of its new vehicle data.
The data software will be trialled in August for a planned September release. Cap hpi has developed the technology in conjunction with OEMs, importers and representative bodies.
The company said while the technology will work across different manufacturer platforms, it will take time for all data to become available as manufacturers have taken different approaches.
The data is designed to provide minimum and maximum values alongside full WLTP data. Cap hpi will also offer a real-time application programming interface (API) to support specific vehicle configurations for those manufacturers requiring it.
Beth Davies, product manager at cap hpi, said: “Our solution has been designed after consulting with our customers and all manufacturers. We believe this will meet consumer and business needs and our release plans will enable our customers to hit timelines.
“WLTP is a crucial industry-wide change, and we are working across the automotive supply chain to ensure we have a robust platform in place. We are building an agile solution that can meet the differing demands of manufacturers and data users.

The API technical specification and a test interface will be made available to cap hpi customers in September, and will launch before the final manufacturer data is available to give users as much time as possible to schedule development and test the interface.
Cap hpi is headquartered in Leeds, Yorkshire, and is a part of multinational company Solera.
Last month Volvo stated it was the first manufacturer in the UK to make all of its vehicles WLTP compliant.
