Daniel Burgess is set to move to auctioneer and remarketer British Car Auctions (BCA) as commercial director for the company’s UK operations as of 1 October, leaving his position as managing director of automotive data company HPI.

Burgess’ previous experience includes senior positions at Alliance Global Assistance, Nissan and Vauxhall, as well as a variety of retail roles.

Burgess will take charge of the company’s sales operations and remarketing services with BCA aiming to grow both its vehicle volumes and automotive services.

Spencer Lock, managing director at BCA, welcomed Burgess "at a time when BCA is delivering a wealth of initiatives in terms of services, products and online capability to meet the needs of our customers."

Lock added Burgess would be "invaluable as BCA continues to innovate and develop to meet the new opportunities presented by the changing shape of the remarketing and automotive sectors."
