BCA has announced an update to its Commercial Vehicle Grading scheme, as part of its ongoing expansion of its Light Commercial Vehicle (LCV) sale programme. This latest iteration is designed to simplify the identification and comparison of vehicle conditions to benefit both buyers and sellers.

BCA’s practice of grading commercial vehicles has been enhanced to leverage the company’s significant investment in refurbishment infrastructure. The updated grading scheme employs a points-based system to assess damage, supported by an LCV grading algorithm that provides a consistent and clear indication of vehicle condition. This information aids sellers in making informed decisions about vehicle refurbishment before putting them on sale.

Stuart Pearson, BCA COO, stated, “BCA has been grading Commercial Vehicles for many years, and our latest iteration has been developed after reviewing data from hundreds of thousands of LCVs sold at BCA over that time.”

He added, “Regardless of the value band, buyers seek vehicles that can be quickly turned into sales opportunities. The latest iteration of our Commercial Vehicle Grading supports all parts of this process, benefiting both buyers and sellers.”

Pearson also highlighted BCA’s commitment to ongoing investment in technology and infrastructure, supporting the entire buying and selling process. As the Commercial Vehicle sector continues to grow, BCA is on track to exceed 100,000 LCV sales this year. BCA’s Online Commercial Vehicle sales programme, which operates seven days a week, ensures that buyers can source the right stock whenever needed, in the most convenient way possible.
