Three grand for old bangers
MG is offering customers a £3,000 trade-in deal on any car redeemable against the cost of a new MG6 Magnette or GT Fastback. The only stipulations are that the traded vehicle must be roadworthy and have at least a fortnights MOT remaining. The MG6 is also available in a separate deal where customers are given a £2,400 fuel card for use at Tesco and Morrisons filling stations, representing 15,000 miles of free motoring.
Come clean, says CAP, on pre-registrations
Research by CAP suggesting that one in three new car sales are vehicles that have been pre-registered by dealers has led to an appeal for transparency by Philip Nothard, retail and consumer valuation editor at CAP Automotive The research reveals the practice is widespread, particularly among large dealer groups, which pocket large bonuses from manufacturers for registering packs of new cars to meet volume targets
