Santander and Zenith Provecta launch fleet solution
Santander Corporate Banking and Zenith Provecta, the fleet management specialist, have jointly launched a fleet funding and management solution. Under the terms of the agreement, Santander will provide the funding of the fleet (including contract hire, contract purchase, and sale and leaseback), whilst Zenith Provecta will provide all other aspects of a “fully integrated fleet solution”.

Fitness First hands major 4-year deal to Lex
Lex Autolease has been chosen to finance Fitness Firsts new fleet with company cars supplied by Volkswagen and Audi over the next four years. The vehicles, which range from Volkswagen Golf to Audi A4 models, were selected after a tender process which also took into consideration the manufacturers aftersales and support networks, Fitness First said.
Jaama scoops NHS fleet deal
Central Ambulance Services NHS Trust wanted standard fleet management software. Jaama has won a deal to provide the South Central Ambulance Services NHS Trust (SCAS) with a fleet and workshop management system for its 1,000 strong vehicle fleet. The fleet software supplier will provide SCAS with a comprehensive solution for its vehicles, including lease cars, rapid response cars and motorcycles, ambulances and patient transport vehicles as well as workshops and a vehicle commissioning unit, which is responsible for adding specialist equipment to vehicles.
VWFS chooses epyx software to repatriate vehicles
Volkswagen Financial Services (VWFS) has chosen epyxs 1link Disposal Network system to repatriate its own end-of-contract lease vehicles back into the Volkswagen (VW) franchise network. Martin Woollam, the captives general manager for remarketing, said: Used cars and vans have been an especially important source of profitability for our dealers during the recession, and ensuring that they have access to the best stock is very important at this point in time. Ken Trinder, head of business development at epyx, said that VWFS use of the system was just one example of an increasing number of manufacturers working with leasing companies to ensure that de-fleeted stock is being offered directly to franchise dealers on a priority basis.
Technology more popular post-scrappage
The dealer management software specialist said over the past few weeks following the end of the car scrappage scheme in March it has seen many dealers now using software systems to maximise sales opportunities in a post-scrappage market. Pinewoods MD Neville Briggs said: Many dealers used their dealer management systems DMS extensively during the scrappage scheme, mining the data available to them to ensure that anyone who they might be able to sell a car to under the initiative was identified as a prospect and were actively targeted.
Mycompanyfleet launches driver checking software
The automotive arm of HR solutions provider NorthgateArinso said it is responding to rising demands from companies by providing a product which not only checks and validates driver licence status, but also carries out deeper background checking of a drivers qualifications, references and even criminal record. The findings feed automatically into Mycompanyfleet software solutions to produce integrated driver records in one place which can be accessed by multiple departments including fleet and HR, the company said.
