Charging infrastructure operator Chargemaster has launched a subscription service for fleet and business vehicles.
The service will allow electric vehicle (EV) users in corporate fleets and business cars to access the 6,000 charging points of Chargemaster’s Polar network in the UK.
As part of the subscription, cards to access the points can be allocated to individual employees, with subscription and usage costs then billed centrally to the company.
A spokesman for Chargemaster said that a number of leasing companies have expressed interest in including the subscription service as part of packages offered to customers.
David Martell, chief executive of Chargemaster, said: “Fleets and businesses are increasingly deploying electric vehicles, particularly with the decline in the diesel car market, and while employees will benefit from lower taxation, companies also need to maximise the benefits that electric vehicles present, by charging them appropriately.
“We are seeing many progressive businesses support the installation of home charging units for their employees, and the Polar Corporate subscription will provide employees with access to the UK’s largest public charging network.”
