The entire fleet of residential rental and leasehold management
company Nottingham City Homes is to be replaced with over 300
Citroën Dispatch and Relay vans.

The new fleet contract was arranged by Citroën dealer
Springfield Motor Group, with contract hire provided by Grosvenor
Contracts Leasing. The contract hire agreement is to run for five
years, 55,000 miles, with full maintenance included.
Grosvenor’s sales director Stuart Menzies was in charge of the
contract hire aspect of the deal, the fleet management and leasing
company confirmed.
“The order also includes a number of specialist conversions such
as Relay Luton vans, tippers and dropside trucks, as well as more
than 100 Dispatch L1H1 panel vans,” Citroën said.
Non-profit making organisation Nottingham City Homes takes care
of over 29,000 residences on behalf of the city council. It said
that Springfield and Grosvenor were chosen according to “stringent
cost and environmental requirements”, with the Citroën vehicles’
fuel-efficient HDi diesel engines and Trafficmaster satnav systems
noted as having helped clinch the deal.

manager Peter Smith added: “These vehicles are best equipped to
play a key role in an on-going programme to reduce our carbon
footprint.”
The “advanced” Trafficmaster Fleet Director fleet management
tool, which integrates with the vans’ satnav systems, will be
fitted to all vehicles. Smith added: “[Fleet Director] will give us
the ability to locate the van and tradesman nearest to the next job
or enable us to support new employees by transferring routes and
confirming attendance at jobs.”
In order further to reduce the environmental impact, Nottingham
City Homes is looking into running the vehicles on a mix of 30 per
cent biodiesel, which Citroën said could be done without the need
for engine modifications.
