Fleet Support Group (FSG) has teamed up with
the Molson Coors Brewing Company to issue Permits to Drive to the
brewer’s 900 company car and cash allowance drivers, along with 200
staff who claim business mileage, the fleet services provider
said.

Molson Coors has also started to use
FSG’s RiskMaster online risk management tool.

In addition, some of the brewer’s 1,300 other
employees may be signed up to the scheme, FSG said, after a survey
to determine whether they need to drive on business.

FSG’s RiskMaster manager Daryl Cottle said: “Molson
Coors’ decision to embark on a far-reaching communication strategy
with staff and complete a driver survey has been excellent.

“We always stress to customers the importance of
advance communication when introducing RiskMaster and to ensure
that they enrol all business drivers on the system.”

Following a DVLA licence check and an online
driving simulation test, drivers are sorted into low, medium or
high-risk groups, with information on accidents, vehicle
maintenance and VED records added to their profiles, to create a
Driver Operating Life Report which can then be used to assess
driving performance.

“Like all our RiskMaster clients, Molson Coors
views driver safety not as a cost but as an investment. Legislation
is increasingly impacting on at-work drivers so employers have a
significant responsibility to manage them effectively,” said FSG
chairman Geoffrey Bray.
