Norwich-based media group Archant has
selected fleet management specialist CLM to manage its 550-strong
car fleet, following a tender that involved 21 fleet companies.
Archant said it now aims to generate cost savings
in vehicle acquisition and servicing of up to 12% and reducing the
fleet’s carbon footprint through environmental initiatives.
On CLM’s recommendation, the Archant fleet is
already moving to diesel to drive down
CO2 emissions from the current average of 146g/km
to around 118g/km.
CLM will manage Archant’s service, maintenance and
repair. The administration of the fleet will be handled by a
dedicated fleet manager, Becky Messenger.
CLM will also provide its tendering contract
management solution, which selects monthly rentals for each new car
on the fleet from a panel of preferred leasing suppliers, and which
is expected to reduce acquisition costs by around 10%.
Archant head of group procurement and
sustainability, Greg Parton, said: “There were two things that
really impressed us about CLM.
