Three training courses on vehicle finance run
by GMAC UK have been formally recognised by motor industry
qualifications accreditation body IMI Awards.
Following months of independent assessment,
Quality Assured Awards accreditation has been given to the
Presenting the Right F&I Option Programme, Business User
Funding Programme, and Finance and Insurance Seminar Programme.
All three programmes are offered through the
GM Academy to Vauxhall and Chevrolet dealers.
GMAC UK currently provides finance for both
Vauxhall and Chevrolet, as does Santander Consumer Finance.
GMAC UK was once the captive finance provider
to General Motors (GM), the parent manufacturer to both brands, but
is now a trading style of Ally Financial,
although GM has tabled a bid to reacquire the company.

By GlobalDataMembers of the car finance industry have
spoken before of the need to keep knowledge of finance up to speed
on the forecourt and the endorsement comes at a time when lack
of such knowledge has been
shown to exert perceived pressure on finance executives and two
recent surveys have
demonstrated customer preference for cash over finance.
Ed Paulat, chief operating officer of GMAC UK,
said the importance of dealer relationships meant the company “puts
a heavy focus on high quality training” which would “provide
dealers with the tools they need.”
Ruth Goymer, UK finance & insurance
training manager at GMAC UK, added the assessment process had given
the company “useful feedback…very much welcomed by everyone
involved in making our training for dealers a success.”
