Kia has emerged as the leading franchise for UK dealers, according to the latest results from the National Franchised Dealers Association’s (NFDA) Dealer Attitude Survey for Summer 2024.

The brand achieved the highest overall manufacturer rating with a score of 9.3 out of 10, positioning it at the forefront of dealer satisfaction.

Kia UK president and CEO Paul Philpott said: “This is an exceptional result and the fourth consecutive time that Kia has come out on top. We have just recorded our best-ever September, and year-to-date we are the fourth best-selling brand in the UK.

“This isn’t isolated growth but the culmination of years of hard work, consistent investment in our people, trust in our product and faith in our loyal customers.”

The survey, which reflects the views of dealers on the value of their relationship with manufacturers, revealed that Citroen received the lowest overall manufacturer rating, scoring 3.4 out of 10.

Meanwhile, Jaguar has shown the most significant improvement since the previous Winter 2024 survey, with its rating growing by 2.3 points. This rise comes after Jaguar was previously rated as the lowest manufacturer in the Winter edition.

The Summer 2024 edition of the Dealer Attitude Survey has continued to show a general upward trend in dealer satisfaction.

Out of 56 questions, 35, which equates to 63%, showed an improvement in this edition.

Conducted over a six-week period, starting from the beginning of August 2024 and concluding last month, the survey received responses from 2,238 sites across 32 franchised networks.

NFDA CEO Sue Robinson said: “This edition of the survey shows advancements in key areas, particularly regarding electric vehicles and apprenticeships.

“However, significant challenges persist, especially with increasing concerns about current profit returns, which have also raised doubts about future profitability.

“The survey also reveals that despite progress in electric vehicle offerings, profitability in the EV sector remains a significant concern, with dealers highlighting limited product range as a major issue.

In August 2024, NFDA unveiled its latest Consumer Attitude Survey (CAS), with franchised dealers found to be the preferred retailer for vehicle purchases in the UK.
